Are you familiar with Christian refutations of "Christian Zionism"?
Thank you for perspective – It is not my perspective and it is always educational to look at opinions from several sides
I haven’t considered for myself if I fit the “Christian Zionist” label – perhaps I do
However, as a Christian within America I was surprised at how I/we were misrepresented in entirety
I have spent several hours reviewing the “Christian Zionist” propaganda, by some major named ‘christian’ leaders, and they do say some outrageous stuff – However – it does not accurately represent the American corner church mentality
I grew up in church in the Mid-West, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. I went to school and church in Massachusetts. I can even say I spent some time at the Episcopal Seminary in Alexandria (Wash DC). I have lived and churched in Arizona, Colorado, Washington State, and the County of Japan, and my wife was raised catholic in Mindanao, Philippines. At the end of my career, I traveled for dot.gov and my family churched in several US states.
In all this exposure over my 64 years – in all my days of Sunday School and Bible Study NEVER have I heard anything like the “Christian Zionist” presented
The nearest Messianic-Jewish group to me is 50 miles away – In all my interaction with them, I doubt they are “Christian or even Jewish Zionist” – but I have never asked
1- Your video paints the “Christian Zionist” position as – it Biblical therefore State of Israel
Therefore violence and in-humane conduct by Israel is justified
IMO – most American ‘Christians’ would be offended by this
Perhaps this was the argument in 1947. I was not a part of that argument – were you? No-longer the reality of the argument.
Americans support Israel not because they are Jewish – but because they are a beacon of democracy in a region of the globe dominated by non-democratic people repressive regimes. – This is the exact same support we feel for South Korea – a beacon of democracy and capitalism surrounded by the CCP.
So happens – American Judeo-Christian values culture sees value in the Jewish culture – we have the same 10 Commandments at least. AND – American Judeo-Christian values culture sees oppression of the people in the Islamic Caliphate governing system.
So happens – Israel is surrounded by Islamic peoples – it is a conflict of ideological values systems.
2- My / reality – the debate has past beyond the should Israel exist stage – the fact is – Israel has been a free democratic state all my existence
As an American – I think it correct to defend Israel because it is a democratic state – the facts that it’s Jewish is secondary – the notion that it’s Biblical not even in the conversation
IMO – the average American corner church goer seldom votes other than to protect their own rights to religious freedom – Should Utah be able to ban abortion on moral grounds, while Nevada has legalized prostitution
The pro- Christian vote is the pro-Israel vote in a two party system – but is it wrong to think Israel is why we vote the way we do.
On a grander scale
Mar 12:17 And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. And they marvelled greatly at him.
If God hand is upon history – my vote is not going to change history – my vote is to hold back the tide of secularism within my own backward
To the video3.44 Not one of the promises God made to Abraham has failedThis is a true statement, but it does not mean that all prophesy has been fulfilled
7:20 ethnic cleansingOFFENSIVE – disagree – misleading – propagandaI am an American and I know what genocide looks like – ethnic cleansing
Ask a Serbian about ethnic cleansing
The very term implies a killing of that ethnicity – it implies a desire to kill / eliminate that ethnicity
Until I see stories about Palestinians being burned in gas overs to eliminate their race – or perhaps mass graves of 500 to 700 Palestinians – then I will just find the idea of ETHNIC CLEANSING offensive
1917 Belford declaration set up separate areas of autonomous rule – Palestinian and Jew
Both peoples co-existed –
1948 The Jewish sector became dominate – 1967 it grew again
Since 1970 there have been more than 40 US led peace attempts – each rejected by the Palestinians over Israel ‘right to exist’
The reality is – it does exist
9:00 promise of the Levant to IsraelSaudi Arabia and Israel are allied together against Persia – both allied with America that occupies Iraq
12:00 The State of Israel as prophesy is indefensibleEzk 47 brings the location of the focus back to the Holy lands
Ezk 38 takes place in the Holy Lands
Jer 5 takes place in the Holy Lands
The re-marriage of Israel to Judea –
all unfulfilled prophesies – is scripture in error?
14:50 – 16:35 talking of the end of the world
Not the second coming but coming as in judgmentThe is another Christian movement called the Peterist – they try to argue that all prophesy has been fulfilled over and over – also relying on the statement of Jesus that it is done
Mat 24:15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),
I have studied this passage with several types of Christian – none of them even see it as a Messianic-Jew or any Jew
For us – this is a clear reference to Ezk 8 and the worship of Tammuz
17:15 God will never again inhabit an earthly buildingCorrect – the Temple will be there to satisfy Mat 24:15
18:30 – all of the covenant was fulfilled with Christ - It is done Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And he opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luk 4:20 And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
However, the rest of Isa says
Isa 61:2 to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
It is not all complete
21;20 God is not a real-estate agentThe ahl is all about real-estate
