learn His Torah out of love and joy, then you are a hasid.Mat 22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
Mat 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The more to know of them and it – the more Christian is begins to sound
OR – you finally realize how Jewish Christianity is –
Jesus was a Jew = The Jewish Messiah
--------------------------------------------------------------
How many of G-d's mitzvahs do you guard and keep Dave?Depends on what you call a mitzvah Anytime – you God work – share God’s love – teach God’s word = a mitzvah
Mat 22:34-40 – love one another as He loved us
The Movie – the 4th Wiseman
Any tov we do for others - we do for him
Depends on what you call a mitzvahI guess a picture of you is a fully bearded person?Yes – I picture myself this was too
I admit it – I am too lazy to shave every day
Yes – I wear a beard - always have
Never has my beard gone down my neck – hate the sensation – time to shave
Never has my beard been “long” – I suffer from dandruff – beard dandruff is embarrassing
Work life – my beard has been trimmed to 1” – to be professional – patient friendly
I was a US Marine – I still wear my mustache above my lip – no soup strainer here
Truth – once retired – I tried to go longer – now it not me
Truth – once retired – I tried to let my temples grow – even tried to braid it
But – my wife just made fun of me
I wear a hat – like someone else might wear a cross
Exo 25 – priest – teachers – Rabbi – are to wear a ‘miter’ cap/hat to identify yourself as a teacher
Jer 5 – hats are worn to – cover our shame before the Lord
Amish – wearing a hat = a brim to overshadow you = a reminder that we are always overshadowed by God
I wear a yamaka – under my hat – if am attending a church service – religious function – weddings / funerals – pretty much anywhere that I might take my hat off to pray.
I use a prayer shall – at times – titis and all
My prayer life – I have a morning bed routine – I assume a yoga position ‘Modified Downward Dog’
Knees on bed and touching my chest – stretching my back out
In the bed – covered with a blanket – in the dark – on my knees – a perfect 20 minutes to do start the day right with god
At times in the day – as I pray something important – I have used my prayer shall
You can say all sorts of myths – like wrapping yourself in the love of God – or you are entering your temple – you are surrounding yourself with the 10 Commandments
Truth – it does help shut out outside distractions – it does help create a private space
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
You obviously enjoy keeping the Sabbath like I also enjoy keeping?Again – depends on what you meanAs for Saturday worship – I have only attended a few – a few Messianic Jewish services – a few by a group called – “Promise Keepers”
Not that I have any issue with Saturday – but in the American heartland Christian Sunday is what is available
Raising my girls through the Sunday School experience – a Sunday event
By choice – and necessity – my girls have experienced many different “Christian” churches of several mainstream denominations over 5 different states – the point was to teach them no one group or leader was more ”Christian” than others
In my personal life – I have always tried to have a seder meal – Friday Nights – with scripture
But – my girls are so active – one is away in college – my wife’s work schedule is demanding
So – what was once – has become hit or miss
In my theological opinion – Hebrew 4:1-11 – the 7th Day remeineth – This is still the Day of REST – ongoing – has not ended yet
If the 7th Day is still ongoing – when should we ever stop holding it Holy? – when should we stop Honoring it?
For me – Saturday vs Sunday = a distraction
If I just woke up from a coma – and do not know what day it is – why shouldn’t I hold TODAY as Holy and Honor it?
Jewish teaching of Korbats / Qorbots – what do you do if you are far away from the Temple?
Answer – you mitzvah like a Christian – care for others – feed the poor – care for the widows
Jewish teaching of Korbats / Qorbots – what do you do if you are in prison / held captive?
Answer – you mitzvah like a Christian
Perfect OT example - Joseph – from a pit - mitzvah like a Christian = 2nd only to Pharaoh
For me – Saturday vs Sunday = a distraction
Equal in stupidity as - Dubai Burj Khalifa: Ramadan fast 'lasts longer high up'BBC -
www.bbc.com › world-middle-east-14437334
Aug 7, 2011 — Muslims living in the world's tallest building should fast longer during Ramadan, Dubai's leading clerics say.
PROOF the world is round – the Ramadan Ritual Fast is ended at sundown
If you live on the ground floor – sundown happens 8 minutes sooner that the people living above the 100th floor – they can still see the sun for 8 more minutes
As a Gnostic all this ritual crap is crap – a distractionBaptism 3 dunks forward – or 3 dunks backward – or is Holy Water OK?
Communion – unleven bread or crackers – grape juice or wine?
3 days and 3 night – or – 2 nights and a day?
