The First Book of Adam and Eve The Forgotten Books of Eden (1980) Random House Value Publishing Inc. A reprinted edition from: Library of Congress, Bible, O.T., Apocryphal Books, The Forgotten Book of Eden ( 1927), World Pub. Co., Cleveland Ohio. Originally edited by 1: Platt, Rutherford Hayes (1894), 2: Brett, J. Alden, 3: Laune, Paul From: The Forgotten Books of Eden’s preface: “Not without justification have priest mounted alters for generations and cried, “Oh my soul, why dost thou trouble me? We are active, restless both in body and mind. Curiosity has replaced blind faith. We go groping, peering, searching, scornful of dogmas, back, further back to sources. And just as the physicist thrills at the universe he discovers as he works inward in the quest of electrons, so the average exults in his apprehension of fundamentals of psychology.” And to that I’ll add - theology, and cosmology. From: The Book of Adam and Eve preface: “The version presented here is the work of an unknown Egyptian. Even though there is much debate over the exact dating of this text, the range of possible authorship lays between 200 BC and 100 AD. Parts of this text can be found in the Talmud, the Koran, and other elsewhere, showing what a vital role this text played in the original literature of human wisdom. That the Adam and Eve story pervaded the thoughts of ancient writers is seen in a large number of texts, whose existence may be traced, through the writings of Greeks, Syrians, Egyptians, Abyssinians, Hebrews, and other ancient peoples. As a lawyer might say who examines so much apparently unrelated evidence – there must be something back of it.” My preface: -- This text is suppose to be only one of a very few that survived the great flood of Noah. Regardless of origin, this text is very old indeed. This book was recreated from two very ancient texts. The primary source was written in Ethiopic (Coptic) and a secondary source of the same age written in Arabic. The only differences between the primary and secondary text are: The language used and the title. Coptic version titled the – ‘First Book of Adam and Eve’ - and the Arabic version titled – ‘The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan.’ Attachments:

De-evolution of man As a part of my ministry for years now, I have taught that you and I are no longer the same physical animal as Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were originally created as immortal herbivores, with mental abilities that far exceeded man of today. In my writing I go on the say, that man was again de-evolved at the time of the flood when man’s life span was limited to 120 years and man became a carnivore. God didn't stop there! Anyone who has read my work knows that I do not see the Towel of Babel story as evidence that man was bad, arrogant, or was trying to usurp God in any way. Even with all of the de-evolutionary impediments and restriction placed upon man up to this point – humanity still pulled together to work together in common cause. Gen 11:5 “But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.” Gen 11:6 “The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will become impossible for them.” Gen 11:7 “Come let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” Gen 11:8 “So the Lord scattered them there all over the earth, and they stopped building the city.” NIV Lets see ‘… nothing they plan to do will become impossible for them?’ = stop it!How dose religious mythology explain away this attitude. Man is not allowed to live up to his maximum potential. Nobody preaches this concept on Sunday mornings. So, man was not allowed to work together for the common goal of reaching for their maximum potential. Man was prevented from reaching for the heavens. Instead humanity was quagmired to the long social slow play of religious intrigue that gave rise to the global culture that culminates in current events. De-evolutionary evidence from Gnostic Scripture:I Adam & Eve 4:1 But Adam and Eve wept for having come out of the garden, their first abode. 2 And indeed, when Adam looked at his flesh, that was altered, he wept bitterly, he and Eve, over what they had done. I Adam & Eve 4:8 Adam said to Eve, “look at thine eyes, and at mine, which afore beheld angels in heaven, praising; and they, too, without ceasing. 9 But now we do not see in like manner as they saw before.” 10 Adam said again to Eve, “What is our body today, compared to what it was in former days, when we dwelt in the garden?”I Adam & Eve 5:5 “Of you own free will have you transgressed through your desire for divinity, greatness, and an exalted state, such as I have; so that I deprived you of the bright nature in which you then were, and I made you come out of the garden to this land, rough and full of trouble.” I Adam & Eve 8:1 Then Adam wept and said, “o God, when we dwelt in the garden, and our hearts were lifted up, we saw the angels that sang praises in heaven, but now we do not see as we were used to do; nay, when we entered the cave all creation became hidden from us.” 2 Then the lord said, “When thou wast under subjection to Me, thou had a bright nature within thee, and for that reason couldst thou see things afar off. But after thy transgression thy bright nature was withdrawn from thee; and it was not left to thee to see the things afar off, but only near at hand; after the ability of the flesh; for it is brutish.”I Adam & Eve 23:6 “And then Adam and Eve stood under the alter and wept, thus entreating God, ‘Forgive is our trespass and our sin, and look upon us with Thine eye of mercy. For when we were in the garden our praises and our hymns went up before Thee without ceasing. 7 But when we came into this strange land, pure praise was no longer ours, nor righteous prayer, nor understanding hearts, nor sweet thoughts, nor just counsel, nor long discernment, nor upright feelings, neither is our bright nature left us. But our body is changed from the similitude in which it was at first, when we were created.”I Adam & Eve 42:9 “The Lord said again unto Adam, ‘O Adam, when thou wast in the garden, these trials did not come to thee. 10 But since thou didst transgress My Commandment, all these sufferings have come upon thee. 11 Now, also does thy flesh require food and drink; …” Sure sounds as if Adam was de-evolved to me. Not only could Adam and Eve notice a change in their physical bodies, but also, their mental capacity.Attachments:

Out of the garden Adam and Eve experienced the darkness of the night for the first time. They feared that this was an eternal darkness and punishment for their transgression. I Adam & Eve 13:12 “Strengthen thy heart and be nor afraid. This darkness is not a punishment. But O Adam, I have made the day, and have placed the sun in it to give light; in order that thou and thy children should do your work. 13 For I knew thou shouldest sin and transgress and come into this land. Yet would I not force thee, nor be heard upon thee, not shut up; nor doom thee through thy fall; not through thy coming out from the light into darkness; nor yet through thy coming from the garden into this land. 14 For I made thee of the light; and I willed to bring out children of light from thee and like unto thee. 15 But thou didst not keep one day My commandment; ….” I Adam & Eve 14:1 “Then Adam said to unto God: ‘O Lord, take Thou my soul, and let me not see this gloom any more; or remove me to some place where there is no darkness.’ 2 But God the Lord said to Adam, ‘Verily I say unto thee, this darkness will pass from thee, every day I have determined for thee, until the fulfillment of My covenant; when I will save thee and bring thee back again into the garden, into the abode of light thou longest for, wherein is no darkness. I will bring thee to it in the kingdom of heaven.’ 3 Again said God unto Adam, ‘All this misery that thou hast been made to take upon thee because of thy transgression, will not free thee from the hand of Satan, and will not save thee. 4 But I will. When I shall come down from heaven, and shall become flesh of thy seed, and take upon Me the infirmity from which thou sufferest, then the darkness that came upon thee in this cave shall come upon Me in the grave, when I am in the flesh of thy seed. 5 And I, who am without years, shall be subject to the reckoning of years, of times, of months, and of the days, and I shall be reckoned as one of the sons of men in order to save thee’.” As the story continues, Adam and Eve are distraught living outside of the garden. The Satan continues to trick them and deceive them to the point when they flung themselves off a mountain top, but God did not allow them to die. Then they gathered up the blood they had spilt, built an alter, and offered their blood to the Lord as an offering of obedience. I Adam & Eve 24:1 “Then the merciful God, good and lover of men, looked upon Adam and Eve, and upon their blood, which they had held up as an offering unto Him; without an order from Him for so doing. But He wondered at them; and accepted their offerings. 2 And God sent from His presence a bright fire, that consumed their offering. 3 He smelt the sweet savour of their offering, and showed them mercy. 4 Then came the Word of God to Adam, and said unto him, ‘O Adam, as thou hast shed thy blood, so will I shed My own blood when I become flesh of thy seed; and as thou didst die, o Adam, so also will I die. And as thou build an alter, so also will I make for thee an alter on the earth; and as thou didst offer thy blood upon it, so also will I offer My blood upon an alter on the earth. 5 And as thou didst sue for forgiveness through that blood, so also will I make My blood forgiveness of sins, and blot out transgressions in it.”Attachments:

The prophesy of 5,500 yearsI Adam and Eve 3:1 “God said unto Adam, ‘I have ordained on this earth days and years, and thou and thy seed shall dwell and walk in it, until the days and years are fuklfilled; when I shall send the Word that created thee, and against which thou has transgressed, the Word that made thee cone out of the garden, and that raised thee when thou wast fallen. 2 Yea, the Word that will again save thee when the five days and a half are fulfilled.’ 3. But when Adam heard these words from God, and of the great five days and a half, he did not understand the meaning of them. 4 For Adam was thinking that there would be but five days and a half for him, to the end of the world. 5 And Adam wept, and prayed God would explain it to him. 6 Then god in His mercy for Adam who was made after His own image and similitude, explained to him that these were 5,000 and 500 years; and how One would then come and save him and his seed. … 16 And the Lord said unto Adam, ‘I told thee that at the end of the five days and a half, I will send my Word and save thee. I Adam and Eve 11:8 “But the merciful God, who looks upon His creatures, looked upon Adam and Eve …, and He sent His Word unto them, … 9 And said to Adam, ‘O Adam, all this musery which thou hast wrought upon thyself, will not avail against My rule, neither will it alter the covenant of the 5,500 years.” Attachments:

OK, I just put this on my library wish list.
Most Christians cannot deny that what was written, in I Adam and Eve 14:3 and 24:4, about Christ is true. Does that necessarily guarantee that the entire body of work is just as accurate? Only way to decide is to check it out for myself.
Prophesy of 5,500 years. I met a fella 2/3 years ago that talked about this prophesy, but he did not have a source for it. I find it interesting that this prophesy, if correlated against the young earth 6000 years belief, put us in very perilous times.

About 15 years ago I got this book from TBN..(before I became disenchanted with them)...and found the Book of Adam and Eve very fascinating. I thought it would make a great play. I liked thinking about what their processes and feelings would have been and the fact that they had no-one else's experiences to read about and compare to theirs, like we do. They were in a unique situation. I don't know if I still have it, but would probably enjoy it in a new way if I read it again.

You see, this is the whole Gnostic attitude. Gnosis just means knowledge. A Gnostic embarrasses knowledge.
Absolutely opposite than Rome's attitude of let them read it for you until, Martin Luther and King James; and if you must read it yourself, only read our approved version. Not only does Roman thought police declare war on, Rabbinic commentary, Islamic text, all other religions, history, and language; but also SCIENCE.
Old fundamental beliefs are yielding to the new religion, mind set, perspective - science - to the point of embarrassing Roman beliefs into obscurity.
Tearing down Roman Christendom weakens Christianity for the masses. The false message that grew out of Roman theology has served to discredit itself so much that the masses, myself included, have become disenfranchised with it. For most of the population this is enough to also discredit scripture and the reality of Christ.
As a Gnostic - I just see this for what it is. A false message! What is built by man will crumble, but what is built by God endures. So, for the greater good, it is time to through off the limitation placed upon us by ROME.
This is not the end of Christianity, but just the Roman version of it. The Coptic Church walked away from Rome back in 461 AD. The Coptic church was founded on Peter. John Mark was Peter's interpreter and became the FIRST POPE in Alexandria Egypt. Matthew and Luke used large sections of the Gospel of Mark to write their Gospels. John was the only other original author. The Coptic church is what we know today as Eastern Orthodox. They invented monasticism and the Monk gave up everything, sometimes even speech, to peruse his Lord in private solitude and service. Since Pope Mark the Coptics have just elected their 119th Pope.
Rome on the other hand has had 266 Popes and the Vatican becomes its own nation, with an army, secret police, and political ambassadors. Rome claims Peter as their First Pope at the very same time the Book of Acts placed Peter in prison in Damascus. Roman thought is based upon the writings of Paul. Murder, mafia, crime, intrigue, and political in-play are all known throughout the Vatican's history. Not to mention the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Bloody Reformation - and the religious prejudice that pervade out very cultures.
They say a man is known by his works - how about a religion?
I am not a Coptic - but I sure respect their approach
As I read these other text and consider their implications, the comforter will help guide. For example - I couldn't wait to get my copy of the Gospel of Judas. OMG! I have never read it completely. I have tried, but sooner or later, I can not stomach any more of it. At least nothing of the Book of Adam and Eve directly disagrees with accepted canon. While, The Gospel of Judas attempts to rewrite almost every line.

Any comments on the Book Of Enoch? I am starting it right now.

Which version are you reading? I have two.
The Book of Enoch - which is a great source of information about life on earth before the flood and the Watchers. You will learn how the Hebrew use of the verb Satan gets confused with the leader of the first 200 Santani. Anyone who wants to know the enemy spoke of as "Powers and Principalities" in Eph. 6 must read Enoch.
The Secretes of Enoch - which is a wealth of information about the duality of matter, the properties of light, the operation of the universe, and time. This book is fascinating to read alongside a physics text.
In this book, some of Enoch's statements seem bizarre. But let me say, Enoch was describing heavenly things in terms he though his sons would understand. Try for yourself to describe the flavor of milk - with saying it taste like milk. You have to break into vocabulary that invoke imagery - creamy, thick, cool, leaves a film in the glass on on your lip. Imagine for yourself describing a heavenly thing with the level of vocabulary we possess today - could we do it any better.
Also, if we can stand around and argue censorship and revisionism in NT Gospel - would not that same argument for corruption hold true for Gnostic texts as well?
