A new version of the Bible is now on the market. This version reads like a novel. Is this more DUMBING UP OF AMERICA? Apparently they have added comments to clarify what the Bible says. For example: When God asked Adam why he ate the forbidden fruit Adam said "Eve handed him the fruit and he ate it because he did not know it was the forbidden one". When God asked Eve to explain herself she said "The serpent did it". What do you think?

Organized - sanctioned - conspiracy to - dilute and pollute scripture.
Read the post I copied from New Scientist .com - claiming that scripture is chock full of errors.

I know the Bible contains errors but the people writing down the words were not historians and they were writing from their perspective. The date of Jesus birth is a good example- but does it make a difference --NO.

I agree - I say with a smirk on my face.
Errors? Yes as to grammatical / exegetical / language conversions and translation - or mechanical mistake.
Error as to content? or Message? No
Again I refer to the attribute of God called Omnipotent. Is there variation in the language - yes, but I also accept that ambiguity is by design. If God just wanted to spit it out like a math text book the Bible could have been a lot shorter. But then man would not have to do his own search to enlightenment.
So, ambiguity is by design and therefore these different versions and languages of Bible is all with the realm of - man search though the ambiguity to revelation --- as well as ---- placing sea shells at the top of the Rocky Mtns.

I side with Dave on this as part of the promise from Jesus is that not one jot or tittle will fail. Not only will God preserve His word, but it is only understood by those whom The Spirit gives light.
