In the spirit of full disclosure - a term Virginia and I use a lot these days - I will share with everyone here, that I asked Rich Deem of "Evidence for God from Science" - www.godandscience.org/index.html - to formally review my book.
The first response from him was simply: What about GPS?
I didn't understand his question, at first. Didn't I provide required information or something? So, I emailed him back and asked for clarification.
His second response was: What about GPS (Global Positioning System)? I make the claim in the title of my book that the earth is expanding. GPS data does not support that the earth is expanding.
I wrote him back one last time, but have never received any response.
So who is this Richard Deem guy? - Richard Deem earned his bachelor of science degree in biological sciences at the University of Southern California He received his master of science degree in microbiology from California State University, Los Angeles, and has been working in basic science research since 1976. He has authored and co-authored a number of studies, included several areas of molecular biology and genetics, immunology, inflammatory bowel disease, natural killer cells, and infectious diseases. In addition, he has presented his work at a number of national and international scientific meetings.. Copied from: www.godandscience.org/personal/my.html
So, I ask for comments about his denial to read any farther than the title of my book.
My response is - GPS has only been online since 1994. AND just as I asked him in my last email - how can data from 1994 forward yield any evidence about the earth a 100yrs ago, a 1000yrs ago, or 70 million yrs ago? Anyone who has taken the time to examine any expanding earth theory - especially as presented in FD-WEDT - understands that the expanding earth process was rapid at first and then slowed toward equilibrium. Today - as for the last several thousands years - the earth is so close to its equilibrium point that the expansion process has slowed to almost a stand still.
Volcanic eruptions, mid oceanic ridge excretions, and earthquakes today all yield evidence of the mechanism that drove the decompression sequence; but at the present steady state of planetary dynamics these forces are absorbed without contributing to planetary diameter since 1994 - or, their contribution to planetary diameter has been measurably negligible.
However GPS data does yield evidence that earth is not a static round ball. Rotational forces, as well as gravitation forces of the Moon's tidal effect, cause the earth to bulge at the equator. The earth is fatter than it is tall! Isn't this statement in itself evidence that the planet's mantle behaves as a flexible semisolid?
Perhaps Mr Deem missed these facts in his biology and microbiology classes. Which brings me right back to statements from within my book that:
Here we are in a technologically advanced age. It is a good time to be alive and our access to information from the broadest scale is unprecedented. Yet, progress has in many ways led to regress. The more and more specified scientist become within their areas of expertise they actually become disconnected from the bigger picture.
Gone are the days when just being an educated and intelligent thinker qualified as a scientist. Da Vinci, Copernicus, and Benjamin Franklin all lack the credentials to be heard today. Instead, today a chemist has a hard time talking to a physicist, both due to understanding and vocabulary.
"Scientist still do not appear to understand sufficiently that all earth sciences must contribute evidence toward unveiling the state of our planet in earlier times, and that the truth of the matter can only be reached by combining all this evidence ... Further, we have to be prepared always for the possibility that each new discovery, no matter what science furnishes it, may modify the conclusions we draw." (Wegener, Alfred, The Origins of Continents and Oceans, 1915.)
