I just finished watching a mini series about 2 brothers trying to discover the treasure buried on Oak Island. They drained the swamp to look for the treasure that may be hidden under the water.
They thought the shaft was probably created to be able to keep the treasure hidden by using the shaft as a false place where everyone would look.
A guy came from Norway and gave the brothers a clue to where the treasure could be hidden by using a book by Shakespere, and the tree of life by the Jewish people. The tree of life has areas with different names--love--honesty and others and a area called Mercy , which was mapped out to be in the swamp.
So far they only discovered a coin dating back to Spain. Rumors where that the Spanirds buried some of their treasures to hide it from the King of Spain.
The brothers have decided to continue their search even thou it has cost them a great deal of money so far.
When they drained the swamp, there was one area that did not drain. Perhaps this area is deeper than the rest. I think they need a archeolist to help them. The swamp is not only covered in water but also weeds making it impossible to see under the water. My idea would be to scoop out the water and pull all the weeds, check the weeks for more coins, but they just pulled some and threw them aside. After all water is cleared and weeds, then shovel out the muck and use a screen to look thru all of it. But instead they send a diver down to feel the bottom. Not a very good way to do it.
I believe there will be another mini series and will keep you all posted. The mini series was on the History channel.
