Jewish Theology 101 – at the time of Jesus ChristMat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Question specifically to Robert1- in 40 minutes – you have been presented to an overview of Jewish Theology Emunah: The Jewish Way of FaithRobert has made the claim – how many Jews understand the word? I though her sermon sounds just like RobertAmunah is an action word – it means to do – to actRobert claims this means perform religious rituals – don’t light a fire on the Sabbath – say prayers – observe Saturday as the Sabbath – not Friday nightThe teaching of Amunah = be a Christian – sacrifice (Korbats) to others – Jer 1:5 – be a blessing – witness – be God’s hands here on earth – be God’s witness here on earth Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Joh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 2- Getting Proximate with God | Rabbi Nicole AuerbachJesus saidMat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.” NOT the TEMPLE – no need for a Rabbi or a Priest – just you doing your job – Jer 1:5 3- Finding God in the Shadows - Rabbi Angela Buchdahl No talk of satan opposing God – only the shadow man helping to facilitate God’s WillHer use of the term “Shadow Man” or “Dark man” sure speaks to meWhat is the benefit – purpose – of the darkness = education! Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Gen 2:17 But of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil Gen 2:17 ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ ξύλου τοῦ γινώσκειν καλὸν καὶ πονηρόν, BUT ALSO - the tree of gnosis of good / beautiful –and- hurtful / evil Luk 15:11 Then Yeshua said, “A certain man had two sons, Luk 15:12 and the younger of them said to the father, ‘Father, give me the share of the property that comes to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them. Luk 15:13 “Not many days later, the younger son gathered everything and traveled to a far country, and there he squandered his inheritance on wild living. Luk 15:14 Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine came against that country, and he began to be in need. Luk 15:15 So he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. Luk 15:16 And he was longing to fill up on the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one was giving him any. Luk 15:17 “But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food overflowing, but here I am dying of hunger! Luk 15:18 I’ll get up and go to my father, and I’ll say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your presence. Luk 15:19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired workers. Luk 15:20 “And he got up and went to his own father. But while he was still far away, his father saw him and felt compassion. He ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. Luk 15:21 Then the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your presence. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ Luk 15:22 “But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quick! Bring out the best robe and put it on him! Put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. Luk 15:23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it! Let’s celebrate with a feast! Luk 15:24 For this son of mine was dead and has come back to life—he was lost and is found!’ Then they began to celebrate. Luk 15:25 “Now his older son was out in the field. And as he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. Luk 15:26 And he called out to one of the servants and began to ask what these things could be. Luk 15:27 “The servant said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he got him back safe and sound.’ Luk 15:28 But the older son was angry and didn’t want to go in. So his father came outside and pleaded with him. Luk 15:29 But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look, so many years I’ve slaved away for you—not once did I ignore your order. Yet you’ve never given me a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. Luk 15:30 But when this son of yours came—the one who has squandered your wealth with prostitutes—for him you killed the fattened calf!” Luk 15:31 “Then the father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and everything that is mine is yours. Luk 15:32 But it was right to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead but has come back to life! He was lost, but is found.’” "Resurrection of the Dead? Made a Believer Out of Me!," Rabbi Angela Buchdahl 11:32 min As we listen to a Rabbi – I always pretend it is the day before Gospel THIS IS THE CONTEXT OF JESUS CHRISTJudaism and Christianly are NOT two different religionsMat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. As my father would have said – ‘Damn you Larry’I should have been doing other things – but I loaded this Jewish Shabbat service. My intention was to listen to it in the background as I did other chores – But from about 22 minutes in to the end I WATCHED EVERY MNUTE1- NO CORPORATE PRAYERYes they did a form of prayer request – But to me – they were closer to the words of Jesus Christ than any Christian church I have even attended Mat 6:5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Amen, I tell you, they have their reward in full! Mat 6:6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room; and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, shall reward you. Mat 6:7 And when you are praying, do not babble on and on like the pagans; for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Mat 6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Mat 6:9 “Therefore, pray in this way: ‘Our Father in heaven, sanctified be Your name. Mat 6:10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 2- EVERY PRAYER WAS A SONG OF PRAISE – straight out of scriptureThey sang Psalms 98 Col 3:15 Let the shalom of Messiah rule in your hearts—to this shalom you were surely called in one body. Also be thankful. Col 3:16 Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with gratitude in your hearts to God. Col 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Why do they all know the words? Because each prayer – each song – from their song book = verses of scripture sang as a song Their doxology – Build a Sanctuary = Psalms 27 and about 49 other agl/OT verses 3- THE SERMON – was only 10-12 minutes long 40 minutes singing parse – singing scripture – 10-12 minutes talking 4- What was the point of the sermon? The Gospel of Thomas - NHL114. Simon Peter said to them: Mary should leave us because women are not worthy of the life. Jesus responded, Look, I'll lead her in order to make her male so that she can become a living spirit like you males are. For each woman who makes herself male will enter into the kingdom of heaven. Women’s lib 101In the beginning – the man was responsible for his whole household Women’s’ lib – stand alone as a man – as the head of your own house – salvation is her responsibility 5- Toward the end – the graduates of the confirmation class – they broke bread and drank from the cupFriday Night Service, Central Synagogue - June 3, 2022Judaism 101 As we listen to a Rabbi – I always pretend it is the day before THE GospelTHIS IS THE CONTEXT OF JESUS CHRISTNow imagine this congregation – after hearing the sermons of this thread Walking out into the streets to meet Jesus in His ministry!Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Mat 5:18 Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Mat 5:19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees and Torah scholars, you shall never enter the kingdom of heaven!

Rabbi Angela Buchdah COVID foxhole faith strengthened in pandemic Jews strengthed by the pademic, 7% , 69% nothing changed. What we think of faith Amanuah go outside loo to heaven and count the stars.... Abram looks up and counting the stars. Torah says, Abram trusted in God, emunah, means more trust. Profound difference in trust and faith Faith is a noun. I have faith DO you have absoluate faith in God? Trust is a verb, a doing thing. Jewish focus on deed and how to behave. We need to trust... to be the hands for good for delivering good into the world DO you behave with amanuah? In countless actions. Support ways to support soup kitchens, we acted with amanuah... we act with amanuah, joined in services, new meaning of Sabbath' How is your amanuah, strong as ever, trusting in prayer a greater tomorrow, and god When we act with amanuah in the world, we are a blessing. We are a blessing to our community and our world. Amen by the way from the word amanuah. I am commented to making that so.

Rabbi Nicole Auerbach We don't learn of God as the almighty in the sky? When have you felt a deep connection to the Universe? Which image of God seems most connected? God is the still small voice? Maybe like me, God meets you when you connect to another person. Cherubim looked like, body of animals and face of humans? they confront another between the two cherubims. they face each toward his brother...between two human faces, as family cherubims also face out, the sages suggest the cherub and face out and look away if not doing will of God. a suggestion As a society not doing human stuff very well, 2021 unrulyu passengers on planes... not drawing onanother close , we are clashing out. We become self righteous. We can only become OK when we come together. Members meet people in prison, coming home project... members of exit community coming home project, COVID, lost his place. running out, turned out on the street, and reached out to him, hotels, this man had a place to live, for 8 months, with help. felt like a miracle if you are willing to get close to people who are suffering you will be able to chang ethe world silence of our heart, or out of fear, take a breath, we need to draw closeer. turn to another that God will meet us there.

Rabbi Angela Buchdahl, Miss the rain and the cloud, hard to be a musican. We need clouds and stormy to create creativity and make the mood and faith, We talk about walking in the light of God. The sunny spiritual life. We need this solar spirituality in GHod's light all day and everyday We seek the light..a better day, our Jewish DNA We Jews have faith in the light Light is good Darkness is bad Light we see and being seen Jews are called to be a light Light we forget our greatest learning happens in the dark We forge relationships in a tunnel We learn to sit with deep pain Shadow feelings of hurt they don't go away Light doe snot clear the dark times up She came to Friday meeting, after lost her husband, Service joyous no room for my pain. How do we hold joy and pain, in the same moment. Moses etched with God's help? Face to face, literally shined. Amazing light filled leader Even Him could not build by himself, the gifts and skills to make things... a single name to built things, his name means the shadow of God. skill, ability and knowledge. Rabbi, skill learns fromothers anility, own experience knowledge divine inspiration beyond you Shadow man learned from other, from his own experience and from God SO darkness educates us, and helps us to grow under a cloud, the partnership of light and dark, carried under a cloud. Moses the man who glowed, need the man from the shadows. The sunshine and the storms give perspective. pain loss and doubt co-exist with healing and hope.

Rabbi Angela Buchdahl Resurrection of the Dead? active volcano, some eruption, witness, regions get benefits long term good soil , and even ressurection of the dead. tuft in the middle, like new trees grew from fence posts. Soil is so fertile. The fence posts become trees, once dead and come back to life? Jewish taught to beleive in the resurrection, begins on Mount of Olives. First up when the time comes. Buried in Israel You resurrect the dead. You give life to all. Fence posts come back to life. God can bring things back to life. Friend is mostly dead, and not all dead. A fence post can sprout back to a tree. SO if something is mostly dead, there is still hope. Pray for the resurrection for the dead. Wait for the messanic age for my dead grandma. Heart can stop and come back to life. Use the phrase, back from the dead as a metaphor/ YOu bring the dead to life. Bold push what is possible. The choice is yours

And your in depth discussion of how the Jews do not know their own religion You must dissagree with a lot of what was said - its Jewish
Please explain to me how the Jew do not understand amunah - what did she get wrong? How is this different than the teaching of Christ?
You claim that this mean you need to be religious – say specific prayer promises – have a special diet – you even said you won’t light a fire on the Sabbath - you are a law keeper She said nothing about the law – acting like a Christian - caring for others – being a blessing to others – being a witness (Jer 1:5)
Please explain to me why the Jews think God exists between people - how is this any different than the Teaching of Christ?
'Shadow Man' - why doesn't Jewish 'shadow man' hate god and oppose god? Why does Jewish 'shadow man' help facilitate God's will on earth?
Why do the Jews believe in Resurrection?
Why is not Judaism only MEN? You posted Thoman 114 as proof that the Book of Thomas was not Jewish or Christian You posted Thomas 114 - to MOCK Gnsotics Christianity
(google) Do Seventh-Day Adventists allow female pastors? Seventh-day Adventists voted Wednesday that individual regions of the 18 million-member Protestant denomination cannot choose to ordain female ministers.
How can Ellen White be a prophet when she is not qualified to be a pastor?
Queen of the Shabbat - you had a question - dont you know who this is You also had a question mark about intruments Did it suprise you that a Jewish service was mostly in song? Arn't the Jews called to sing praises to the lord with tamborine and harp - horn and lyre?
Just to repeat - this is all from Larry - this is his online church I have only been aware of this group for a week or so - but it is consistant with my experience
Dan Black - I pictured him as chubby with long beard - black coat and Hat - pushing 70 years of age But hard to imaging this same image BELTING out song like a rock star
NOTE - all Jewish song is scripture - based on scripture Take a verse - turn it into a prayer - or a prase - and sing it to the Lord
They celibrate Shabbat

D" You must dissagree with a lot of what was said - its Jewish R" No it's nice
D" She said nothing about the law – acting like a Christian - caring for others – being a blessing to others – being a witness (Jer 1:5) R" One is not to judge, but I would have to ask how she love others, to term how this is done, in her own strength as a woman or via faith in God.
D" 'Shadow Man' - why doesn't Jewish 'shadow man' hate god and oppose god? R" Yes I will investigate this man's name.
D" How can Ellen White be a prophet when she is not qualified to be a pastor? R" A prophet can be male of female, and a priest /pastor is only male. Miriam was a prophet, and Aaaron was a pastor, both brother and sister.
D" Queen of the Shabbat - you had a question - dont you know who this is R" Yes that does this mean?
D" You also had a question mark about intruments R" Yes not sure I like the drim kit/
D" Did it suprise you that a Jewish service was mostly in song? R " Singing is nice....

Jer 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart—I appointed you prophet to the nations.” Mat 22:34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that Yeshua had silenced the Sadducees, gathered together in one place. Mat 22:35 And testing Him, one of them, a lawyer, asked, Mat 22:36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Torah?” Mat 22:37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Mat 22:38 This is the first and greatest commandment. Mat 22:39 And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Mat 22:40 The entire Torah and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” It has nothing to do with the things you do for yourself It has to do with ‘sacrifices to the Lord’ mitzvah – korbats It is about your witness to others – those around you – the family of God Judaism 101 – if you away from the Temple – Korbats – a personal sacrifice to others D" 'Shadow Man' - why doesn't Jewish 'shadow man' hate god and oppose god? R" Yes I will investigate this man's name. Cool – darkness in the service of the LordD" Queen of the Shabbat - you had a question - dont you know who this is R" Yes that does this mean? No internet in Australia – or just lazy(google) The intent of the meal is to figuratively escort the "Sabbath Queen" (the traditional metaphor for Shabbat in Jewish liturgy) on her way out via musical performances, singing and eating, as one would escort a monarch upon his departure from a city. This meal is alternatively called "the fourth meal." (google) Who is the Sabbath bride? In November, we looked at the symbolism of referring to the Sabbath as a Queen or a Bride. The idea is a metaphor representing the relationship of God and the People Israel as King and Queen, or Bridegroom and Bride. Judaism 101 – God the Father never leaves His throne 24/7 But the shekinah – the female aspect of God comes among the people – to tend to the children of God i.e – the Holy Spirit – Holy Ghost – the medium – the Spirit of God – Sophia – The Goddess of Heaven The feminine “WOMB” of all God’s creationD" You also had a question mark about intruments R" Yes not sure I like the drim kit/(google) What instruments were used in Psalms?Psalm 150 names nine types of musical instruments to be used in praise of God. While the exact translation of some of these instruments is unknown, the Jewish commentators have identified the shofar, lyre, harp, drum, organ, flute, cymbal, and trumpet D" Did it suprise you that a Jewish service was mostly in song?R " Singing is nice.... YES – Like Richard and the Friends – Never mix study with praise Get – together to praise the lord = a celebration(google) Who is a famous cantor? In the post–World War II period, prominent cantors were Moshe Koussevitzky, David Werdyger, Frank Birnbaum, Richard Tucker and Abraham Lopes Cardozo (1914–2006). Operatic tenor Jan Peerce, whose cantorial recordings were highly regarded, was never a cantor by profession but often served as one during the high holidays. I thought sure – this was also going to list Bing Crosby Study – with question and confusion is never mixed with praise Why do the Jews believe in Resurrection?2 MACCABEES 7:14 165 BC – 200 years before Jesus ChristCEB- When the end was approaching, he said, “Death at the hands of humans is preferable, since we look forward to the hope that God gives of being raised by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life.” DRA - And when he was now ready to die, he spoke thus: It is better, being put to death by men, to look for hope from God, to be raised up again by him: for, as to thee thou shalt have no resurrection unto life. GNT - but his final words were, I am glad to die at your hands, because we have the assurance that God will raise us from death. But there will be no resurrection to life for you, Antiochus! NABRE When he was near death, he said, “It is my choice to die at the hands of mortals with the hope that God will restore me to life; but for you, there will be no resurrection to life.” NCB - When he was at the point of death, he cried out: “It is far better to choose to die at the hands of men and rely on the promise of God of being raised again by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life.” NRSVA - When he was near death, he said, ‘One cannot but choose to die at the hands of mortals and to cherish the hope God gives of being raised again by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life!’ NRSVACE - When he was near death, he said, ‘One cannot but choose to die at the hands of mortals and to cherish the hope God gives of being raised again by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life!’ NRSVCE - When he was near death, he said, “One cannot but choose to die at the hands of mortals and to cherish the hope God gives of being raised again by him. But for you there will be no resurrection to life!” NRSVUE - When he was near death, he said, “One cannot but choose to die at the hands of mortals and to cherish the hope God gives of being raised again by him. Thanks for your post Dave
A question from the words of the Rabbi women
She said "
Pray for the resurrection for the dead. Wait for the messanic age for my dead grandma.
I thought you say life lives, so why does she speak of a resurrection and of a future time to see her dead grandma?

I thought you say life lives, so why does she speak of a resurrection and of a future time to see her dead grandma? All you can see is the flesh - is the body - all you preach is satan's kingdom - the worldLife Lives because spirit is NOT flesh - we preach God's kingdom - heavenDeath Is Temporary, Life Is Permanent10:43 min LIFE LIVES – the soul lives – only the body dies and death is temporary All true and correct – until Gnostic John adds the Second Death – Rev 20 Does Dave agree with Rabbi Friedman 100% - No 05:20- Coming back as a 20 yr old – is medically sound – peaks health- OK But - The backwards progression from death to 20 yrs old – Hmmm? 1Jn 3:2 Loved ones, now we are God’s children; and it has not yet been revealed what we will be. But we do know that when it’s revealed, we shall be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. To me – Jesus was His optimum at age 30-32 And the transformation = a QUICKENING – instantaneous Just nick picky points – 06:53 – he says – THIS IS WHY WE ARE NOT AFRAIDRemember where this Jewish theology comes from – 2nd Maccabees250BC – Israel was denied its language and religion Pigs were sacrificed in the Temple to Tammuz 167-160BC = the Maccabean Rebellion – and the Temple is Rededicated Jewish Chanukah – and the miracle of the Minora Dave’s version from memory – it all starts with one man who just could not take it anymore and went crazy on a few Roman Soldiers – to his surprise the villagers joined him in revolt Rome – sent a large army to put the revolt down Overwhelmingly Out Numbered – the Maccabees routed / humiliated the Romans So – Rome sent an even larger army – again totally defeated So – Rome sent an even larger army – again totally defeated So – Rome sent an even larger army – again totally defeated POINT – there were many battels - Miracle after miracle – Joshua repeated What NEW THEOLOGY is introduced to the Jews that make them fearless 2 Mac 7:14 - but his final words were, I am glad to die at your hands, because we have the assurance that God will raise us from death. But there will be no resurrection to life for you, Antiochus! 8:00 – cremation and the holocaust - interestingTo me – cremation by choice – or by accident – or by war – explosions – plane crashes How can one be any worse than the other?

God creates us and does not give up on you the soul is waiting to come back to its body soul goes to heaven and is rewarded for all the good it did Body be rewarded? one blind and one lame both hungry they wanted to steal fruit blind can see lame can't read blind guy put lame guy on shoulders king though who do I punish both incpable of stealing by themselves so both got punished so he punished the same way put the blind guy on the bottom and lame guy on the top reward them, put them back again. body come back alive. body come back in the same condition as it died. wjy? come back the way they remember you. continue to heal, until you body is 20 yrs old and stay that way forever. Adam and eve was already a 20 year old. We are no afraid, for souls for heaven We know they are listening... The coming back of the soul to the body. Death is temporary body will come back We must honour our body How life comes and how life goes Life never ends. How can a soul go bad?
Nice Rabbi story, but not a scholarly presentation of torah verses backing up this claim.
Shalom
