I pulled an Anderson plug apart the other day, similar to a TV coax cable connector. Is it reliable as a conductor for power? NO, not as an electrician, no, convenient yes, but electrically a poor connection.
I think twisting the bare wires together and placing a barrel tube of copper over it, with two crimps should be a much better connection. Probably doesn't matter really, as its a 72 V DC pulse carrying 5 amps, is really easy over any connection.
I will price some in Australia since you ask?
ebay prices range from $12 each to $24 each.
To make one string solar array, I need 11 of them, that's $132 or possibly $264
For connecting as a twist using barrel connector, I need 4 of them, cost me $20 for 200 of them in a box, that's 10cents each.
So to me, the best electrical option is the crimping, heat shrink, and tape, twist the wires together.

I ordered a car part on the internet - Amazon It shipped from Hong Kong - to Los Angeles - then by train to Kansis City (800 miles past me) - then Dallas Texas (1000 miles south of me) - then to Denver (200 miles north of me) then by truck to me.
The rest of the story - my wife was home awaiting the package - she works night and sleeps days Two weeks later when I tried to track the package - I was told no one was home and the package went back to Denver
ARrrrrrrg@!
No wonder shipping is so expensive
Bible Humour - Question - What proof do we have that Abraham and Sarah were married?
Answer = Gen 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her.
1- IT IS SARAH's IDEA
Gen 16:4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. Gen 16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee:
2- BUT IT IS ABRAHAM's FAULT

Yeah, I paid 450 dollars to freight my batteries from Melbourne to Brisbane, only to be told I have to pay another 250 dollars to freight them from Brisbane to Emerald, where I transported myself the last remaining 100 Kms, in two trips, way too heavy for a single trip (800Kg). Our roads are bumpy. But you would reckon the Freight company would offer a complete quote.
Imagine buying a skin price for a new car. So you pay the 11 grand, only to discover the tyres are not standard. What no tyres you ask? That is an additional extra the car salesman replies.
You buy a skin hedger for 400 dollars, without battery and charger, the complete machine with one battery is only 700 dollars, but you really require two batteries, so the wow complete prince is 1000 dollars. It's a great way to suck you into electric Skil appliances.
The definition of marriage is intercourse:Gen 16:4 And he went in unto Hagar,
I would call that a shameful marriage as the family was not invited to witness a couple coming together.

The cables to join the battery banks together got crimped today by Pirtek, a hydraulic company. The wire is 70mm about 10mm diameter, able to carry about 300 amps I reckon. The lugs are 30mm wide and 130 mm long, very large, the battery post is 20mm diameter. Cost me just 22 dollars to get them crimped from 30mm to 20mm dia, for the lug Red arrows show how much the lug was squashed. Fantastic work, thanks Pirtek. SHalom

Worth every pennySometimes the smallest detail can cause a lot of trouble (wiki) NASA lost its $125-million Mars Climate Orbiter because spacecraft engineers failed to convert from English to metric measurements when exchanging vital data before the craft was launched, WeatherAmerica just had a cold spell – Sunday morning it was -16F (-26.666C) – and we got a foot of snow All the eggs (5) were frozen in the nest (8 – chickens) Question – after you spend 2 hrs digging your car out – and the temp finally raises to -4F How do you start your car Answer – you don’t – you just wait 24hrs for the weather to change A lot of news stories from Texas about the winter weather and their electric gridLet me put it perspective because the way it is reported is propagandaI live in the Colorado Mountains – it was -16F at my house and I never Knew until I woke up I was snowed in – and just chose to stay home by the propane heater and solar window Since August we have spent $290USD on propane (LP) and currently have about $200 of it here waiting to be used I have a root cellar and – if I have to I could eat and stay alive here for a long while Water is my weakest link – I have 3500gals of town water delivered underground that we use for showers and washing dishes + 1750 gals of run off stored underground – for the garden and trees If I had too - I could boil it In Texas – my in-laws lived in Houston for years – they had a block wall home – no insulation – they had a gigantic air conditioner – but no furnaceWhat happened in Texas = at temperature +6F (-14C)It is the weight of the ice – that pulls the power lines down Texas did not build for it Without the power grid – no one had furnaces – phone was interrupted – gas stations shut down Waring – Global Warming – leads to Ice AgeEver see the movie – The Day After? – (Art Bell) - it isn’t a big storm but it covers the entire norther hemisphere with 1” of snow at the same time – turning it white that reflects solar energy – instead of absorb Just FYI

Thanks for the info, slowly getting there.
I would hate living in a place with lots of snow and below freezing.
We have humidity instead, I have to install extractor fans in our room.

Silly man – how are you going to build a snow man in the sand? If you throw a rock at your neighbor – he calls the cops Hit him with a snow ball and the war begins ending in laughter You know you live in Colorado when – You can drive home after a party at 1 am over the pass in 3 feet of snow But can call in at work the next morning because you are snowed in – without question Only to run into your boss at the ski slope later that day You know you live in Colorado when - The economy shuts doewn on the first day of Elk season (everyone calls in sick - if it is the boss - yeah) True story - High maintance woman from Denver - credentialed and experienced started picking up some weekends in the mountains - easy shift and big bucks It is cool to have a place in the mountains if you are from Denver But she was NOT going to tolerate this casual - the contractor takes off to hunt or fish attitude So she paid extra to hire a mega-corp construction company from Denver They - sub-contracted the local guy - and he took off to hunt and fish whenever he wanted All of said proffesionally ahhh - and all smiled when she turned away We live in a high desert – lumpy bumpy rocks stubble – rip your 4x4 suspension up But with 12” of snow on the ground – it all become smooth as water People come from all over the world to snow- mobile here Snow-go-carts that will do 100kph for miles – that is fun Horseback riding the wilderness – without the horses I live within 300 miles of 17 world class ski slopes – home of the 1963, 67, 75 Winter Olympics Santa Fe, NM is an amazing place – Nice ski slope Every American school student learns that the first American colony was Jamestown in 1622 In Santa Fe, NM in 1509 the Spanish built a Cathedral that stands to this day Red River, NM My 40 acers of Mountain 8278' (2523 meters above sea level) PropagandaFor 30 years we have listened to the left preach renewable energy Down with coal – down with oil – down with fossil fuels Today the left says - “It seems pretty clear that a reckless reliance on windmills is the cause of this disaster,” Truthwww.vox.com/2021/2/19/22290512/texas-winter-stormPlaces reliant on wind energy that are no strangers to cold and ice — from Sweden to Iowa — are proof that the freezing of turbines in Texas was not inevitable. The difference: Unlike in Texas, those turbines were weatherized to operate in the cold. Truth Texas didn’t build for it – and why should they 99.9% of their history is all above freezingIn a field experiment, researchers found that during a 30-hour period when blades iced over, power production dropped by up to 80 percent. Even worse, this ice can cause turbines to become severely unbalanced and vibrate, potentially even breaking under the stress. Unbalanced blades are stopped to prevent catastrophic failures

I guess living in the snow seems like fun Dave. You have experiences I do not know.
Nice to read though, only seen snow once, and it was a little amount at that. Our snow is harder, like ice, not soft like your snow.
Enjoy you day my friend. thanks for the pics. Hopefully our power house will start up soon, Instead we get lots of rain and humidity, mossies and flies, and sweat alot in the sunshine. LOL
Shalom

Dave I have a SCIENCE test for you, seeing you live in lots of snow Is this snow natural or not? youtu.be/ag_sV7wLSgY Goes for 2 minutes Do this experiment and let me know the results. Does the artificial snow exist, does it go black and smell like plastic? Shalom

Real Snow vrs Fake SnowFake snow is not really snow – it is sleetReal snow that falls from the clouds is always a beautiful 6 pointed star (the Star of David) – they say no two snowflakes are identical – each infinitely intricate only scale only God can see Please google snowflake images – they are amazingly beautiful expression of the mathematics of molecular shape Real snow is not frozen water –ice – it is water that was allowed to crystalize into ice in high altitude and low pressures Fake snow made by man is high pressure water sprayed into the cold air whenever it is below the dew point – this does not make hexagonal beautiful shapes – it make tiny little ice balls Hail are ice balls that fall from the sky and makes dents in your car and camper Sometime hail can be so large it breaks car windows But sleet is subtitle – at first you think it a light rain – a drizzle – in German it is ‘spritza’ – then you realize it is not dripping down the window like rain – it is just lying there like little tiny solid balls When driving in sleet – you always worry if the road is slippery If it sleets for a while – all the surfaces – of your car – the trees – the electric lines – all become encased in ice – sometimes thick

Do this experiment and let me know the results. Does the artificial snow exist, does it go black and smell like plastic?Don’t have to – I live hereWhy does the loose free falling snow melt – but the snow ball hardens and turns black1- not all snow is the same – it depends on the atmospheric conditions Believe it or not there is dry snow and wet snow At high altitude – the humidity is very low – usually around 11% here Snow that falls in (not stormy) conditions floats – the cars kick it up like spray on the roads – the winds blow it into large snow drifts Skiers call it powder – and it is the best snow - I have skied through 6-8” of powder and it has zero resistance – you fly right through it kicking up a large cloud behind you You cannot make a snow ball with powder – it will not compress and stick together Now that's fun!Snow that falls in storms is much wetter – Each snow shovel full weights more – hard for the cars to push through – perfect for getting hung up in the snow – the weigh causes roofs to fail If you ski into it – the resistance at you ankles will throw you into face plant if you’re not experienced Perfect for snow balls – snow men and snow forts Answer1- The loosely packed snow has distance between the individual flakes - this allows air between the individual flakes – you also allow the heat – and the snow melts 2- squeeze the snow into a slowball and you change it properties – it becomes pack Examples – you have snow on the sidewalk – you shovel it away no problem But if everyone walked on it first – and packed it – you can shovel the walk and the foot prints will remain – you have to scrape them away You let everyone walk on it for a day then try to shovel – you need a chisel When the flame comes close to the pack – the surface does melt and some is lost BUT the cold from the inside of the pack radiating back out towards the surface refreezes the melt into ice Some of the soot – from the flame becomes trapped in the new forming ice But why doesn’t it melt away – it does and refreezes just as fast in The snow next to a camp fire with just become hard Pack Why doesn’t all the snow ever melt in summer It can be a beautiful hot July or August day – but there in the shade is a pile of snow Answer – the top did melt – over and over and it forms a hard crust – encapsulating the pack The snow plow always throws the snow into the ditch – it melts down – then the snow plow covers it again – it melts and retracts – again the snow plow – and around here there are packs of snow 24/7 all year round. We use one – to keep 1 gal jugs of water frozen all year We stick these gallon jugs into the pack – to freeze We use the frozen ones for our ice-box year round In the hottest summer – we only need to make one trip a week The road we use is not even open in winter It adds 12 miles to the trip into town But 6 frozen 1 gal jugs keeps 8 cu/ft – to cold sometimes If you ever hear/or read a Ski Resorts 'condition report' - they alway include the "Base" This is the amount of pack under a skiers feet Today 02/21/2021 - Wolf Creek - 125 miles straight west of me Wolf Creek Ski Area: Open Snow -Powder Open trails - 133/133 Open lifts - 8/10 Snow depth - 102" Base - 110" Translation - Snow depth - 102"at Wolf Creek Pass (the location of this ski slope) if you stuck your tape measure into the snow - in an average - the snow would be 102" deep - that = 2.59 meters - (remember this)Base - 110"Also - on the groomed slopes themselves - the snow cats have been busy every night 'packing' the daily snow fall - so the skier standing on the groomed slope is 110"- 2.79 meters above the grass below Ski resorts pack the snow so it last as long as possible in spring - to keep the ticket sales coming Spring skiing is fun - it can be 70F (21C) - and we ski in the snow until it is too slushy to cover the rocks

at Wolf Creek Pass (the location of this ski slope) if you stuck your tape measure into the snow - in an average - the snow would be 102" deep - that = 2.59 meters - (remember this)and this has been a lousy year for snow – the state is way behind its average Our Camper May 2002The thing that is impossible to explain – until you see it – is the scale of it all These are my Mountains and where I ski – San DeChristo – the Blood of Christ This one range of the Rockies is 60 miles wide – 380 miles long But that still gives you no idea of scale because – nothing is flat – it can take 30 miles of winding road to cross 5 miles on the map All of it covered in 2.5 meters (should be 4.5) of snow The melt in the spring fuels the 3 largest river systems in America (Colorado, Missouri, and Arkansas Rivers) The melt in spring supplies the agricultural water for 11 states and drinking water for 4 states

Wow nice read Dave and good explanation of the snow heating problem with a flame. People doing such experiments should be more scientific and less prone to conspiracy theories. You have snow. How much fun that would be. We have heat, humidity, its sweltering at 3am already. The house is still 29 degrees C. While air cons are nice they are expensive to run all the time. The power house is getting close to wiring up. The frame I welded up to hold the 18 cable wires from the copper rails, to bring power to the main board. Buying the 3 dozen lugs, 1 dozen connectors, 20mm plastic conduit (50m), solar wire (30m) and a 22mm drill bit, plus some shrink wrap plastic tubing, cost me $368 yesterday, so ready to begin the wiring process. Shalom

I would hate living in a place with lots of snow and below freezing. We have humidity instead, I have to install extractor fans in our room. My sister moved away from Northern Indiana to Phoenix Arizone - to escape the weather and snow When I visit her in Phx - she will not go outside - will not leave her air conditioning I accuse her of not recognising a good day when she sees one Here it can be cold for a few eeks - then one day the temp is almost thawing and the sun is out - and so is the whole community - we are on a high - nice day - good day to play and enjoy Like today - good family day BUT - BEWARE - The Great Snowbear of Colorado

One thing I have noticed about cold, it kills off bugs, pests and diseases from plants, so your fruit comes in spring really nice without fruit fly, rot and other problems. So where we are we both cold and hot weather cycles.
Certainly God knew what to do when Adam sinned, so God's nature could survive, the impact of His sinning.
Love the pic about the bear....ha ha.
Shalom Sabbath, it's Purmin Day, the fun time practicing Jewish rescue, and a symbol of Jesus second coming.
