The bulk of the following is taken from – Angels and Endangered Species, by Malcom Godwin, 1990
Principalities – were seen as an order which was in charge of nations and great cities on earth. Later these boundaries expanded, but in doing so the borders became vague. The Principalities extended their domain and became the protectors of religion (a difficult assignment if all four major religions involved) … One of the contenders for chief of the Princedoms is Nisrock. Originally an Assyrian deity.
The Devil is an essential ingredient in any religion which preaches redemption. To overcome evil, in the first place one must have evil to overcome ... Even a church reformer like Martin Luther insists that without the devil and the threat of damnation there is little need for either Christ or His Church.
There are seven conflicting Christian version of how satan appeared and managed to gather such a huge following.
1- The Shadow of God – Originally the devil was the dark aspect of God which was turned toward humanity. This concept is translated into Greek as angels or ‘Messenger. This emissary was actually the ‘shadow’ pf God which is able to communicate with mortals, the bright side being too fierce for humans to bear.
2- Free Will – This is cosmic is scale and theme. It comes from one of the most influential theologians of the early Greek Church. Origen of Alexander maintained that God created a number of angelic intelligences who were equal and free. Through their free will they chose to leave the Divine Unity and gradually drifted away from the source. Those who drifted the least remained in the ethereal regions nearest God. Those who fell farther fell into the lower air and became angels. Those who fell farther away took human bodies, while those who fell the furthest of all became demons.
3- Lust – Enoch list 200 ben elohiym (Watches) who descended on Mt Hermon assisting the Archangels in the creation of Eden. At the same time, they began teaching man the art of civilization. The trouble was that their extra-curricular activities including the unexpected seduction of the daughters of Adam. Rabbi Elkiezer, in the 8th century, put the blame on the women who seduced the angels.
4- Pride – also from Enoch, ‘One-of-the-order-of- angels’ having turned away with the order that was under him, conceived of an impossible thought to place his throne higher than the clouds above the earth. This is a popular version in the Middle-East . The guarding angel of Rome made the same boast.
5- War – Some say on the second day of creation, there was a tremendous battel in heaven. God had created angels with free will, but He observed they were infallible. The Almighty was uncomfortable with the idea that His creation would sin and probably would, given hafe a chance. So He strengthened many of them in their pursuit of Goodness by an act of Grace. According to St Augustine this confirmation gave them a profound understanding of the workings of the cosmos and their unique place in it. Then God created a secong group of angels, but withheld his Grace and so gave them the opportunity to sin. … and a war broke out in heaven.
6- The Passion of the Redeemer – This scenario is more subtle and more difficult to grasp. The angels committed the sin of Love-of-Self. The devil has an intense hatred for humans. The devil seduces Eve. Up until this time God had given the devil and his legions of Angels the power to temp, test, and punish man. St. Augustine says, God took on human nature in order to make a full reconciliation with His creation. He was to feel what we fell and to suffer as we suffer under the devil’s reign. So, in the form of Christ He delivered himself, like the rest of us
7- Disobedience – Pride and disobedience are a combined cause. When Adam was presented to the angels. Satan refused to bow before the new creation. “How can a Son of Fire bow to a man of clay?” (Koran)
Gnostic Cosmology
The first Anion – The first Age – The first time period
Gen 1:1 Trinity of form – but a duality of expression
One the one extreme of creation = Negentropy, corporeal reality, Christ , salvation – TOV
One the other extreme of creation = Entropy, empty space, the opposition, damnation – RA
Something happened in the Gap – Gnostic literature doesn’t speak of a ‘war in heaven’ it just says that Chaos grew out of control. So an Archangel said – ‘Let someone reign over the chaos in Hades’
The second Anion – The Second Age
The Archon (entities of the chaos – now being reigned over) co-existed with Adam
In 7 generations all but Noah was corrupted
Even the animals – not only does Gen 6 speak of human demigods, but also of chimeras
The Third Anion – The Third Age of Man
God introduces Himself to Israel the 1% - ahl
The 99% are at the mercy of the remaining 10% Archon ‘other gods’ and the Rephiem
The Fourth Anion – The Fourth Age of Man
Christ introduces Himself to the 99% through the 1%
‘other gods’ are still here – Mammon – self – Allah
The Rephiem are still here – possibly the 13 Families that rule the world
Disembodied evil spirits lurk everywhere
During the ahl – Israel struggled against surrounding nations who worshiped an ‘other god’
Mohammad gather all the ‘other gods’ into one shrine in Mecca and says, “Allah rules over all of them’
Today – Israel struggles against the same surrounding nations who all worship Allah
When Christ returns – every nation he fights against is Muslim
Remember Principalities were seen as an order which was in charge of nations and great cities on earth. Today we have Jewish Nation in an allegiance with Christian Nations in a struggle against Muslim Nations allied with Atheist Nations (China)
In the duality of God – feminism is always associated with the RA
Archangel Gabriel – is unique amongst an otherwise male or androgynous host, fir it is almost certain that this Greta Archangel is the only female in the higher echelons. She is also the only angel mentioned in the Old Testament by name, except for Michael, and is said to sit on the left side of God, which is further evidence of her being female. …
Gabriel appears to Daniel to tell him of the coming messiah…
Gabriel appears to Zacchaeus to announce a birth…
Gabriel appears to Mary in the Annunciation…
Jewish folklore – Gabriel … takes the invariably protesting soul from paradise, and instructs it for nine months in the womb
To Mohammedans, Jibril/Gabriel dictated the entire Koran to Mohammad, and is considered the angel of truth.
Isn’t it interesting that angel Gabriel is the one that inspires the opposition today called Islam is also female? - Very Gnostic!
