One apparent connection between the god Seth and the Sethian Gnostics comes through the use of the symbol of an ass's head. (Wiki) - Set, also known as Seth and Suetekh, was the Egyptian god of war, chaos and storms YES! – IMO – this greater Gnostic figure is the Chief Archon - YES! – it is the mission of the archon to seek worship – even sacrifice – to deceive the truth – to offer humanity a substitute that is less than Christ

I don't know anymore if Wunsch theorized that the Sethians referred to Yahweh with a Y, even though I wrote "I suppose that the Sethians could have referred to YHWH as Y as Wunsch theorizes, but it would be helpful to have more published information on that." One problem is that the Greeks and Romans would have written Yahweh starting with a Greek or Roman "I", since the "Y" was Upsilon, making a U sound. A Gnostic version of the name for Yahweh, Yaldabaoth, was written with an I, like "Ialdabaoth". Wunsch nonetheless did theorize that use of a Y was part of Sethianism, since it was found on a Sethian worship Tablet.

I thought over the issue of Sodom and Gomorrah that Lansberry and McBride discussed. It's true that on one hand, an Egyptian myth of the god Seth involves homosexuality. Wikipedia's article on "Homosexuality in Ancient Egypt" contains the story from the Middle Kingdom of Egypt by which Seth raped Horus in order to humiliate him, but Horus caught Seth's seed in his hand. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_ancient_Egypt#Horus_and_Seth). In the Gnostic "Gospel of the Egyptians," Seth's generation of his descendants is connected with Sodom and Gomorrah:
