I went to Reasons to Believe and typed in "flood model" and heard what he believes about Noah's flood. To me it doesn't really hold water...so to speak. A missing link can really take you on a rabbit trail, I think.

This is a conversation I have all the time and I love it.Krista Bontrager at Biblical Foundation for RTB’s Flood Model says, Although English translations of the Bible––and children’s storybooks––make it seem as though the flood covered the entire globe, the text doesn’t demand this interpretation. This is a very common theme by many Christians and even Christian Pastors. God is Omnipotent, but he can’t do this or that! A local flood phenomenon is easily imaged by anyone. It is easy to believe and once you go there the genesis story might even have been copied from the Sumerian Gilgamesh story. All of this diminishes God, God’s Word, and His abilities. If the Flood of Noah isn’t a Global event, then what to these educated people do with: Gen 7:19 the waters "... rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered." - In fact - - Gen 7:20 "The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet." How do they deal with it – OH yeah – they don’t – they don’t even mention it. Most of the criticism I get are from clergy that are into Dr. Walter Brown's hydro-plate theory. Dr Brown’s theory is alive and well at the Creation Institute in Texas. If you are interested in alternative theories, you should check this one out as well. Come on back and talk to me some more after you read his work. I have MUCH PRACTICE defending myself against his well-accepted theory. www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/

Isn't it interesting? If you can not buy into God's handiwork on a grand scale, you just minimize the miracle into something human size. Like the people that say they believe in creation, but fall back on the theology that God just used evolution to perform his creative deeds.

I just read 2 Pet 3:5.... For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. You pointed out that God is not limited to doing things only within our "scientific" parameters. God does supernatural things...such as...creating life! So we don't have to know all the details to believe what the bible says (but it is very interesting to explore them). God intervenes in the affairs of man, whether it appears to be natural process or miracle. I have seen Brown's Hydro-plate theory before. It just seems a little forced...where-as your theory is magnificent! All the pieces fit.

Well – Thank you for the compliment!
You said it correctly – All the pieces fit together! In fact, that is my most favored quotation by J. Marvin Herndon who says, ‘When you’re on the right track, the pieces simply fit together.’
It is interesting the process we all take to get to where were find ourselves today. Just how much of our life is spent in frustration, disbelief, and as I like to say Confusion; as compared to that small fraction of our lives we can contribute to inspiration and revelation.
