I have the perfect answer -- I don't know
What I am sure of - is it is more complicated than we think - who could know. That isn't the point.
Gnostic literature is criticized for its reference to - The Goddess of Wisdom - The Goddess Sophia -- PAGAN
However - Judeo-Christian cosmology about the feminine aspect of the Creator is not simply black and white.
In Hebrew tradition, Shekinah is supposed to be the feminine aspect of God that comes down from heaven and mingles with the people.
Messianic Jews believe this to be the Holy Spirit
Jesus promised us the Comforter - to guide/teach/sustain us - spiritos in Greek and Aramaic is feminine
Ancient man saw gods as male, but their thoughts as female
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 1:27 - Rome must separate this one sentence into two different events
First God made mad in God's image - then He made them different.
Gnostic cosmology hold's that this one one singular event resulting in a man and a woman that were both in God's image, because God has a female component to His God Head.
Rome makes the Tirinity as a Male Father, a male Messiah, and an androgynous Spirit.
Gnostics sees the Trinity as an androgynous Father (Creator), a male Messiah, and a female Spirit that is the "womb" of all Creation.
Gnostic cosmology is a more complete picture of the 'elohim - as well as - the creation of, the purpose for, the construct of - the Chief Archon, his minion (demons - also archon by definition), the war in heaven, its cause and it reason -- AND -- illuminates the GREAT CONTEST for what it is.
