The government has just revealed (after 6 yrs) that every phone call, every e mail every internet message sent has been monitored.
No matter how innocent, no matter your children, no matter a old lady like me, your information has been monitored.
Now they are looking at credit card purchases.
Years ago when strip coding on all purchases were felt to be monitored by someone.
It is an easy way to see what groceries you buy. Too much liquer, too many pastries, too many vegetables, if there is such a thing.
Texas makes you get a permit to drink a beer with your meal.
Should you care?
Does this make you feel more secure?

New York Times, THE EDITORIAL BOARD, President Obama’s Dragnet, June 6, 2013 www.nytimes.com/2013/06/07/opinion/president-obamas-dragnet.html?_r=0The administration has now lost all credibility on this issue. Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive branch will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it. That is one reason we have long argued that the Patriot Act, enacted in the heat of fear after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks by members of Congress who mostly had not even read it, was reckless in its assignment of unnecessary and overbroad surveillance powers.
Based on an article in The Guardian published Wednesday night, we now know that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency used the Patriot Act to obtain a secret warrant to compel Verizon’s business services division to turn over data on every single call that went through its system. WeMorning Examiner: Do Americans care if Big Brother is watching? June 7, 2013 washingtonexaminer.com/morning-examiner-do-americans-care-if-big-brother-is-watching/article/2531383Less than 24 hours after the Guardian first reported that the National Security Agency was collecting all of America’s telephone records from Verizon, other media outlets have not only confirmed the story, but reported that the government’s surveillance dragnet is far more expansive than previously thought.
The Washington Post reports Friday that the NSA and the FBI are using a program code-named PRISM to tap directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents, and connection logs. The Wall Street Journal adds that this same program also collects similar data from all of the major credit card companies as well.
I looked at some news polls associated with several news stories like these above. On the Average approximately 40% of Democrats care, 51% of Liberals care, and 67% of Republicans care. But, I am disconnected from the main stream and I must be a pessimist – because – I doubt these numbers reflect my circle of friends at all. My pessimism would predict that these numbers only reflect the <50% of people that got to answer the poll, while >50% of the general population would hang up on the pollsters as I do. Therefore, the 40%, 51%, and 67% answers above only come from about 20% of the population. None of my neighbors will talk politics. They just shrug their shoulders as if to say the system is out of control and their comments or feelings on the matter wouldn’t count even if they were asked. No one cares about anything anymore – except themselves. Just look at the Newtown massacre. Did 70% of Americans actually cry out for gun control – or was it just 100% of the News Media that reported the 70% from the people that got to comment in the press. People like politicians and paid political opinion “experts?” Go down town in any major US city and ask 20 people standing on the street what they care about do you actually expect their answers to concern anything about national or World politics? I think – NO! Over the last decade or so, I think we have been conditioned not to care - so that our government can get away with small crimes like: 911, or dismantling our constitution right before our eyes without a public outcry. I listened to Pres Obama this morning for several minutes and he said Congress is over seeing these programs--as if that will make us feel better. He said it over and over again---as if you say it over and over--you will be convinced. So just turn on the tv and watch some dribble because gov has us covered.

Sorry, I didn’t even answer your question yesterday. I apologies for being moody. Should I / we care? The answer to this question depends on where you put your trust. If this is a world of men, governed by men, controlled by men, and your trust is in the men that govern you; then I guess we should care. Our voices need to be heard our votes need to be cast to help men determine the direction and course of the governed. I personally campaigned for Ronald Reagan, Ok, I admit it, I used to be an active Republican. Why? Because I believed that the Declaration of Independence call for national life style built around “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” mandated a small government. Since then, it has become obvious that the country Ran Paul speaks of, or that our founding fathers envisioned no longer exist. The teachings of Biblical values are actively being curtailed throughout our society. It is against the law to present Creationism as an alternative to Evolution. If your trust is in God, as the 23rd Palms presents, then the affairs of men are of no importance. Look at the morality of our country, just how different are we fro Sodom and Gomorrah? God said to Abraham that he would save the city for the sake of 10 righteous men. Would Lot have been able to change the morality and attitudes of the population there by his participation in governing process? How did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? Genesis 19:24 Then Jehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah out of heaven; Now Ponder all the conversations we have had this year about Planet-7X and various other metero strikes upon the earth. Revelation 8:7 And the first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 and there died the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, even they that had life; and the third part of the ships was destroyed. 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell from heaven a great star, burning as a torch, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters; 11 and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. My concern these days are for my family, friends, my neighbors (that is everyone I interact with). America is a lost nation and in the firm grasp of the Beast. As individuals, we can no longer fix our society through the system, but only by changing the people that make up the system. Attachments:

The problem is--that they all sound good until they are elected then something seems to happen and then they are not voting like you thought.
I remember the 1950's where women dressed up, wore gloves and hats. Knew how to serve tea and cookies. Did not swear.
Yesterday there was a weather girl on tv doing the weather and her skirt was so short it barely covered her bottom. I am surprised the station let her go on air that way, but they did.

Haven't you heard sex sells, baby!
Isn't that the whole commentary on our society.
